As the LPN / LVN with a multi-specialty faculty practice, 80% of your time will be dedicated to providing superior patient and office assistance including scheduling, prescription refills, answering telephone calls and handling records. The additional 20% of your time will be focused on supporting other staff members with various back office duties. ROLES AND
Responsibilities:
Review new patient information physicians
Coordinate scheduling of ancillary studies
Arrange studies required prior to or time of initial visit and send instruction sheets for tests if necessary
Answer patient or family telephone calls, obtain appropriate initial information
Review information with physician and return calls as instructed
Prepare and update patient charts prior to a clinic visit (obtain vital signs)
Obtain urine specimens, perform and record dipstick test of urine
Obtain lab results from reference labs, record in patient charts and discuss abnormalities with physician
Assist with prescription and refill ordering
Arrange scheduling of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and obtain authorization for the procedure
Coordinate and assist with hospital admissions, renal biopsies and outpatient infusions
Additional duties as directed
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Hold current LPN/LVN license with 1
years of related work experience
Solid knowledge of practical nursing care in pediatrics
Knowledge of HIPPAA regulations
Strong computer, communication and organizational skills
Willing to travel to provide support to physicians and patients
Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred
