The Histology Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Histology laboratory section. This oversight includes technical supervision of processes and testing procedures as well as management and supervision of personnel. In addition, the supervisor will be responsible for the completion of performance appraisals, addressing performance and conduct related issues with staff. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements pertaining to the processing of specimens and the performance of routine histology procedures as well as work under the supervision of a Pathology Medical Director with validating and implementing new technologies. Additional duties include budget review and preparation, and inventory management. The supervisor may also perform the duties of a technologist as workload requires. BA, BS degree required. Florida State license at supervisor level required. At least three years experience working with the basic laboratory sciences with regard to decision making required. One year supervisory experience desirable. Comprehensive technical knowledge of specialty as it relates to test validation, performance, QC, and QA activities. Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable laboratory regulations. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task. Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
