With five medical helicopters , we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need.
The hospital is home to one of the busiest solid organ transplant centers in the country.
TGH is a nationally designated comprehensive stroke center, and has a 32-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.
Other outstanding centers include cardiovascular, orthopedics, high-risk and normal obstetrics, urology, ENT, endocrinology, and the Children's Medical Center, which features a nine-bed pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric kidney transplant services.

Department Profile The Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Units feature a admit/discharge unit, complex medicine, joint replacement, orthopedics, medical observation unit, neuroscience, oncology, primary care, specialty surgery, the nursing rehab unit, the Acute Care for the Elderly Unit (ACE), Adult Stepdown Unit, cardiac observation, cardiac telemetry, CV Center, and cardiovascular telemetry.
TGH has 604 Medical-Surgical/Telemetry beds.
These units value the art and science of nursing and offer a high level of interaction with patients and families.
Job Summary Under general supervision and according to established nursing standards, policies, procedures and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients.
Collaborates and participates with the manager in unit operations.
Exercises independent judgment and advanced clinical skills.
Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments, identifies and reports situations requiring intervention, formulates and communicates goals and directed plan of care; assures patients' rights.
Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications Required Skills Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN required; licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Florida; one year of experience in clinical area.
Med/Surg experience required; ANCC certification preferred.
