Responsibilities for the Pre-Suit Paralegal include, but are not limited to:
The Pre-Suit Paralegal must work a high volume of pre-litigation personal injury files Use the firm's Case Management System to track, request, and follow-up on various records, including insurance and medical records and bills.
Understand insurance concepts relating to automobile insurance such as Property Damage (PD), Bodily Injury (BI), Uninsured Motorist (UM), Underinsured Motorist (UIM), Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Medical Pay benefits (MedPay).
The Pre-Suit Paralegal must be able to help manage cases and take direction from Case Managers and Attorneys on their files.
Prepare various letters and reports including records requests, injury / damage / settlement summaries (including accurate calculations), and demand letters in pre-litigation matters Contact lien holders for updates relating to Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance Accurately enter all required data into the firm's Case Management System The Pre-Suit Paralegal must be able to effectively communicate with clients, insurance company personnel and medical professionals Qualified Pre-Suit Paralegal Candidates Must Have:
The Pre-Suit Paralegal must have 2 years personal injury law firm experience handling a pre-litigation personal injury caseload, including case management skills Proficient computer skills, including typing and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as Case Management software (Needles experience a plus) Ability to be accurate and organized Work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper telephone etiquette The Pre-Suit Paralegal must have the ability to multi-task and work under pressure Hours are M-F 8:
30am-5:
