Linux System Administrator SME with Security Clearance

R-00122510 Description Leidos is seeking a Linux System Administrator SME to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD.
This role requires an individual that is technical in Unix/Linux administration and security hardening, providing Subject Matter Expert level support to other systems administrators on configuration best practices.
This individual should be detail oriented in order to capture customer inquiries appropriately.
This role is responsible for interacting with other administrators to handle service inquiries and problems.
Duties include examining highly complex customer problems and suggesting and implementing appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return to service.
This role analyzes recurring problems and initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence.
Individuals in this role may be required to perform technical software configuration, rebooting, and other remedial actions on customer servers Primary
Responsibilities:
o Experience interacting with customers and senior managers to handle service inquiries and problems.
o Develop automation tools by writing/modifying scripts for deployment, maintenance, and system monitoring using Linux shell scripts, Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
o Document, review, and maintain system administrator guides and standard operating procedures.
o Identify and resolve Linux system errors and crashes, disk space problems, and full disk errors.
o Implementation and troubleshooting of Linux network services such as NFS, NTP, FTP, SSH, DNS, NIS, Sendmail, and Apache SMTP.
o Configure LDAP server and LDAP client on Linux machines for centralized authorization and authentication.
o Build new Linux Virtual Machines and physical server using templates and ISOs.
o Create new Linux templates and secure them using the appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) set by DISA.
o Manage package install/upgrades using YUM and RPM.
o Experience with Ansible Tower and playbooks with knowledge of creating, troubleshooting, and deploying.
o Experience in backend solution's day-to-day system administration, log extraction/monitoring, and creation of shell scripts for the automation of daily tasks and monitoring.
o Hardware and software installations, upgrades, maintenance, security analysis and network performance and tuning of Linux servers in a virtual infrastructure.
o Installation and maintenance of RedHat Satellite servers to push changes (Spacewalk) and patches to various servers simultaneously.
o Mentor junior team members.
o Support operations across multiple geographic locations and networks.
o Develop solutions to complex technical issues.
o Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause Analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
Basic
Qualifications:
o Experience Installing, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu Linux.
o Extensive automation experience to automate installing, securing, configuring, and updating of Linux systems.
o 10
years of practical experience administering Linux servers in a physical and virtual enterprise environment.
o Knowledge of Dell (Power Edge), HP (Proliant servers), or Sun-Fire T-series Enterprise Servers.
o Extensive knowledge of VERITAS NetBackup, VMWare, and RedHat LVM tools.
o Knowledge of configuring the automated monitoring of Linux systems utilizing Splunk, Solarwinds, or Microsoft SCOM.
o Experience with the following languages:
Bash, Perl, C, C++, JAVA, Python, and/or Ansible Tower playbooks.
o Network experience and understanding of the following as it relates to administering a Linux server environment:
TCP/IP, NIS, NFS, DNS, DHCP, FTP/TFTP, SSH, SFTP, ARP.
o Experience with storage tools such as LVM, SCSI, Ext 3, Ext 4, XFS, NAS (NFS, SAMBA, RAID 0/1/5) and SAN (iSCSI, FiberChannel)o Familiarity with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions such as Dell VXRailo Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.
11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security
CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 6 years, Associate's with 10 years, or High School Diploma with 12 years.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o RHCSA or RHCSE certification.
Clearanceo Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
o An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for this position.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.
00 - $152,750.
