The Accountant I is a valued member of the Accounting Department.
Key responsibilities include performing accounting duties such as general ledger reconciliation and review, internal reporting, external reporting, classification, recording, and analysis of various routine financial transactions.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements, including research and variance analysis Reconcile complex general ledger accounts Conduct analyses by gathering pertinent data and formalizing results using Excel spreadsheets Document month-end accruals of deferred expense and income items through proper journal entries Post entries to the general ledger and subsidiary Prepare FR2900 (Regulation D Report) and submit it to the Federal Reserve weekly, including the Reserve Requirement calculation bi-weekly Prepare the funding of general or special checking accounts and federal funds daily through wire transfers Create daily liquidity forecasts of cash position Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget, internal reports, and external reports Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger system Prepare monthly CUSO financial statements, reports, and formal general ledger reconciliation Document information required for auditors and regulatory examiners Attend training classes to increase professional knowledge
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting 1
years of experience in customer service, preferably with a financial institution Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management Ability to comprehensively communicate facts, policies, and practices.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
