Functions as a change agent in moving quality processes & initiatives forward.
Establishes, manages, and implements quality initiatives, systems & measures by driving a culture of quality.
Champions the PGTI Quality Management System (QMS) that delivers high-quality industry-leading PGTI products and services.
Manages change and improvement efforts that support the production of exceptional products.
While achieving high first pass yields and delivering products on time.
Supports PGTI strategic initiatives across all product lines within the PGT Venice manufacturing and glass production environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Create/lead a diverse technical team that proactively assures sustainable quality processes and systems in all aspects of the Venice campus operations including design, manufacturing, delivery, supply chain, and service of the company products.
Achieve industry-leading Customer Facing Quality Performance by working closely with the sales and operations team to intimately understand customer issues.
Knowledgeable and experienced in maintaining ISO9001-compliant quality program.
Ability to continuously improve new product development (NPD) processes that yield effective product roll-outs.
Maintain and manage the PGT quality standards using effective document and data control methodologies.
Review products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
Partner with the operations team to establish an effective manufacturing process to ensure quality and high first pass yield.
Actively participate in production meetings with the manufacturing team.
Gathers information on employees' perceptions of the Company's cultural and systemic barriers and provides interventions that support the achievement of quality in all facets of the business.
Attuned to leading approaches to improve quality by utilizing an appropriate tool chest of approaches, such as:
TQM, RCA, SPC, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments, FMEA, etc.
Identifies opportunities for improvement and works to engage appropriate areas/resources to determine responses.
Works with Sales, Service (Customer & Field), Engineering, and Manufacturing to establish and document in-process and finished goods quality acceptance criteria.
Ensures acceptance criteria are understood and followed by all parties involved in designing, building, shipping, and installing company products.
Works with Engineering and Manufacturing on product specifications to ensure quality and reliability of finished products.
This includes design as well as manufacturing process requirements.
Ensures Process Automation, New Line Processing, and Line reprocessing meet established acceptance capability (CpK) criteria.
Collaborates with Engineering and Manufacturing to establish and support equipment buy-off procedures and production line pilots or line trials.
Ensures a consistent approach to manufacturing company products.
Works with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop consistent implementation processes and plans including:
Production Assembly Documents if appropriate and control audits.
Works with Materials Management and company suppliers to leverage partnerships and strategic alliances to ensure quality of all services, purchased parts, and materials for company use as well as establishing appropriate containment and receiving inspection criteria and procedures.
Develops processes and procedures to verify that products are meeting established quality acceptance criteria.
Establishes Quality Assurance as the first line of defense for production root cause analysis and establishment of containment procedures, utilizing Product Engineering as required.
Leads teams engaged in inspection, testing, and auditing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Plays an active role in bringing the Voice of the Customer (VOC) to plant management teams within the PGT Venice manufacturing facilities.
Provides guidance and leadership to subordinate leaders and team personnel to help them effectively plan work, lead team activities, and establish priorities.
Plans and maintains a continual work schedule for department personnel that supports the 24/7 manufacturing environment.
The incumbent needs the capability of prioritizing workload and delegating appropriately to deliver results.
Incumbent to be an agile leader who can deal with not only day-to-day demands while working to strategically to move the organization to best industry practices.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field.
Advanced degrees in Quality Management or MBA would be beneficial in this role.
10 or more years of experience in continuous quality improvement, encompassing quality assurance and quality control from an enterprise-wide standpoint.
At least 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Quality Systems, SPC, and FMEA.
Ability to drive root cause analysis.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must possess an intermediate or better level of competence using all MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels and functional areas of the business.
Must possess above-average presentation and facilitation skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS College-level mathematical skills including the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts including statistical analysis (frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis).
REASONING ABILITY Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Must be able to analyze situations promptly and accurately.
Must have ability to handle multiple tasks.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Manager of Quality Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) Certifications are preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
