40Position SummaryThe SVP, Member Operations is responsible for the effectiveness of the organization's daily operations related to the administration and processing of health and welfare and pension benefits in accordance with Company guidelines, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Provides leadership and oversight to Operations leaders managing pension, health and welfare claim operations, eligibility and enrollment, customer service, and training and development.
Ensures client service level requirements are consistently met; and proactively addresses issues, and operational needs.
Mentors, coaches, and leads management by consistently exhibiting leadership qualities consistent with Company values and mission.
Ensures sufficient and appropriate business processes and operational controls are in place to support the organization's short- and long- term goals and strategies.
Evaluates existing processes across functional areas and develops efficiencies and performance improvements.
Tracks and reports on operating results to ensure consistent growth and progress towards achieving organizational goals.
Develops policies, practices and procedures that support and drive efficient operations, organizational growth, and client satisfaction.
Continually monitors effectiveness of operations; makes operational adjustments as needed.
Oversees the management of expenses and labor allocations to ensure operations remain within budget parameters; determines and implements appropriate course correction when needed.
Partners with Client Services to address and resolve service issues or escalations with clients; attends Board of Trustee meetings as needed.
Partners with Sales and Product Development to assist with the growth of revenue through participation in finalist meetings, client presentations, and/or product training/deployment efforts as applicable.
Provides input related to the organization's operational capabilities and the overall impact of potential activity related to mergers and/or acquisitions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
Twelve years of progressive operational leadership experience with strong exposure to the Taft Hartley space.
Strong familiarity and understanding of third-party administrator operations and Taft-Hartley provisions and implications.
In-depth understanding of labor unions with the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively navigate these complex business landscapes.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, up to and including the Board of Directors.
Ability to oscillate between the organization's high-level strategy and the details of daily execution.
Ability to effectively coach, develop, and manage a successful team of high performing leaders to achieve well respected goals.
Willingness to travel as necessary to meet strategic objectives and fulfill commitments to all stakeholders.
Understanding of systems and applications used in the processing, administration, and delivery of health and welfare benefits, pension benefits, customer service, and training with the ability to leverage technology necessary in managing a large, national workforce.
Computer proficiency including MS Office tools and applications.
