Summary:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist prepares documents for scanning into the electronic document management system.
Examines pages and verifies patient identification on each page.
Collates records in the hospital-defined order and prepares to maximize scanning efficiency.
Proficient in maneuvering in a multi computerized environment and in Microsoft Windows.
Maintains scanning equipment to assure the quality of scanned documents and maximize performance of scanning equipment.
Provides customer service for the HIM Department and is responsible for filing and retrieving medical records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
