(HSD) is a Florida-based, full service specialty contractor with offices in Tampa and Orlando FL.
HSD is an Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Contractor that is focused on highway construction, specializing in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), traffic control devices, signalization, lighting, roadway signing, guardrail, and cable rail installations.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee all aspects of the human resources department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection of candidates.
Conduct new employee orientations and ensure smooth onboarding process.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
Process weekly payroll for the company, ensuring integrity of payroll systems and payroll processes, and the timely, accurate delivery of pay to employees.
Report on payroll taxes, deductions, summaries of earnings, paid leaves, nontaxable wages, and periodically provide relevant payroll reports to management.
Stay informed of key dates and regulatory deadlines.
Furnish tax forms to employees and file with the IRS.
Oversee all payroll functions including establishing and maintaining employee data in payroll system, maintaining accruals for PTO balances, 401K employer match and health insurance.
Maintain employee records, including all deductions, exemptions, pay rate changes, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classifications, and extra payments such as bonuses.
Create and maintain payroll policies and procedures, and follow payroll best practices in keeping with applicable federal and state laws.
Advise management of changes in the wage and hour law that will have an impact on the company.
