Position Details - Cove Behavioral Health careers Chief Financial Officer Primary functionThe CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the companyin accordance with generally accepted accounting principles financialmanagement techniques and practices appropriate within the not-for-profitsector including business planning, accounting, budgeting, fiscal management,financial reporting, and forecasting.
TheCFO provides strategic leadership andoversight for Cove's finance, facilities, corporate compliance(compliance/contracts/QI/RM), and transportation departments.
The CFO's strategic focus is to create higher return on investments, optimization of workflows, increase the company's revenues, and improve relationships withfunders/strategic business partners/new business opportunities.
As part of the executive management team, theCFO acts as a senior business partner to the CEO and the rest of the executiveteam.
Scope of workThe duties listed below are intended only asillustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.

Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the company'sfiscal function and performance.
Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports andfinancial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other seniormanagement in performing their responsibilities.
Completes all financialreports including income statements, balance sheets, bond covenants, accountreceivables, cash flow projections for company management:
monthly financialsby the 16 th of the month to CEO electronically; financials for programs to Directors by the22 nd of each month; units ofservice report by the 15 th of the month, and all other reportstimely to meet contract and management compliance.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce finance policies andprocedures of the company that will improve the overall operation andeffectiveness of the company.
Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education ofdirectors on financial issues impacting their budgets and provision of timelymonthly to actual reports.
Maintain a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanismthat includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiateappropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
Study long-range economic trends and projects company prospects forfuture growth in overall services and market share, opportunities foracquisitions or expansion into new product areas.
Estimates requirements forcapital, real estate, and an increase in the work force.
Supervise investment of funds.
Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into whichthe company may enter.
Responsible for the finance, corporate compliance/QI, and maintenance divisions through continual improvement of theefficiency and effectiveness of their services and evaluation of theirperformance to ensure that key performance objectives are met as well asproviding individual team members with professional and personal growthopportunities.
Implement effective and timely billing systems and optimize third partycollections by working with HR, IT, Finance and Clinical teams.
Develop, maintain and manage annual budget.
Analyze and develop case rates, alternativefunding proposals/analysis, rate negotiations, return on investment, andviability/sustainability of funding and create and submit reports as requiredon these areas.
Contribute and lead the Finance Strategic Plan in cooperation with theCEO.
Actively participate in the audits of Cove'sperformance including reviews, subcontractor monitoring, and key participantfor all other funder/compliance/quality audits.
Train, supervise, and provide oversight to teammatesaround the daily operations of the finance, facilities, corporate compliance(compliance/contracts/QI/RM), and transportation departments.
Maintain and manage facilities and transportation in compliance withstandards as well as expectations of the company.
Ensure that required safety, maintenance and transportation records,inspections, and services are completed.
Participate in health and safety activities includingassisting the Facilities Manager with DOT logs, Annual DOT Operating Report,and Safety Inspections/Drills.
Participate as a member of the Executive ManagementTeam.
Create a work climate that emphasizes collective teamperformance and company goals.
Build strong relationships with funders and attendmonthly/quarterly funder meetings as assigned.
Collaborate in planning, design, development, testing,and implementing new technology or enhancement to existing technology tofurther the mission of Cove.
Serve as the Safety Officer for the company.
Perform other related duties necessary to accomplishthe objectives of Cove and/or assigned by the CEO.
SupervisoryResponsibilities 6-10 employees.
Supervises teammates both directly and throughsubordinate supervisors in the finance, facilities, corporate compliance (compliance/contracts/QI/RM), and transportationdepartments.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the company's policies and any applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new teammates;planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding anddisciplining teammates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
