Director of Legal Talent Management

Our client, a highly respected AmLaw 200 firm, has retained Alex & Red to recruit a Director of Legal Talent Management.
The firm numbers over 300 attorneys in offices nationwide and serves clients across a range of industries and issues.
The Director of Legal Talent Management will provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of the Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development functions within the firm.
The Director of Legal Talent Management will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
The Director of Legal Talent Management will:
Design, implement, and oversee the attorney recruitment and development and training programs for all of the attorneys of the Firm.
Legal Recruiting Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Practice Group Leaders, and Hiring Chair to create a firmwide recruiting plan that coincides with the firm's strategic plan initiatives.
Direct the Attorney Recruiting team by providing strategic guidance and leadership.
Direct the firm's recruiting and hiring efforts for associates and lateral partners for all offices of the firm.
Collaborate closely with firm leadership to identify and assess continual experience gaps and/or capacity needs which may be addressed through external attorney hires.
Implement creative approaches to evaluate, enhance, and source high-quality lateral partner candidates and associates through lateral and on-campus recruiting efforts.
Work with firm resources to evaluate and enhance an onboarding and lateral integration program.
Direct and develop strategy for all aspects of campus recruiting, including campus interviews and call-back process, evaluation and offer process, data-tracking/candidate tracking systems, and events related to campus outreach efforts.
Set agendas for and run meeting with Firm hiring partners.
Maintain awareness of law firm trends, client industry issues, office and geographical challenges and opportunities, and relevant information to inform firm leadership's evaluation of existing and future attorney hiring needs.
Foster and facilitate a recruiting culture with firm partners to identify and connect with strong candidates.
Establish a recruitment process that ensures an exceptional candidate experience.
Direct recruitment methods, such as ad placements, manage use of third-party recruiters and law school placement departments, and strategic involvement in outside groups or activities.
Professional Development Collaborate with leadership on objectives, priorities, strategies, and the core competencies attorneys require- both on the job and through training and development programs.
Conduct training and development needs analysis in consultation with attorneys at all levels and devise approach and specific programs responsive to those needs.
Direct Professional Development team in creating, designing, and implementing firmwide training programs; including various academies, orientations, and workshops, and practice- and skills-based training courses.
Design, and oversee Professional Development team in implementing, various formal and informal feedback and review programs and drive annual attorney review and compensation processes.
Create, evaluate, revise, and direct the Professional Development team in implementing attorney mentor and advising programs.
Drive the annual shareholder selection process.
Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders and Assigning Partners on work assignments.
Counsel attorneys on career development issues.
Serve as a liaison between practice group leaders/shareholders and associates.
Actively participate in the Associate Relations Committee.
Identify trends and needed changes to policies or approaches.
Oversee Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
The anticipated compensation is in the $200,000 range plus bonus.
This position is located in Tampa, FloridaQUALIFICATIONS A minimum of eight to ten years of professional development and attorney recruiting experience with a law firm.
Experience leading all strategic and operational aspects of the recruitment function, including identification of needs, strategy development, management of external search firms and consultants, institutional (law school-equivalent) relationship building and program management, candidate identification, evaluation and assessment, offer negotiation, onboarding, and integration.
Strong understanding of best practices in recruiting, professional development, career development and training.
Highly responsive coupled with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
A highly organized and self-directed approach to managing multiple projects.
Strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to mentor a diverse staff.
A bachelor's degree is required, and a J.
D.
is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
