Transplant Coordinator -Transplant - Heart Program

The transplant coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the health care team to develop theory-based patient care for those patients undergoing solid organ transplantation (heart, liver, lung, kidney, pancreas or multi-organ) from referral through long term post-transplant follow-up. The transplant coordinator has experience in nursing and transplantation and a global transplant nursing perspective with a focus on long-term outcomes. The transplant coordinator learns from experience and evidence what to expect in a given situation and alters plans accordingly and has an intuitive grasp of situations and operates from an innate understanding of the situation. The transplant coordinator recognizes when situations are outside the expected and uses analytical skills and abilities to investigate alternative perspectives and conducts comprehensive assessments. The transplant coordinator promotes health and the prevention of injury and disease, serves as an advocate and educator, mentors, delegates, and provides feedback to their support team. The transplant coordinator participates in quality assurance process improvement to improve transplant nursing practice, patient outcomes, and processes. The transplant coordinator is responsible for ensuring the coordination of the clinical aspects of transplant patient and living donor care permissible within their license and acts as a liaison between a kidney transplant program and dialysis facilities, as applicable. The transplant coordinator provides consultation and education to healthcare providers and the community regarding transplant issues. The transplant coordinator possesses an understanding or regulatory requirement and incorporates these into their practice and participates in research to improve transplant nursing practice. The transplant coordinator is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
  • Current RN license from the State of Florida and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
  • Current certification as a CCTN (Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse) OR CCTC (Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator) preferred.
  • All transplant coordinators are required to sit for the CCTC exam within 2 years of hire and pass within 3 years of hire.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
