CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGIST - BAYCARE LAB ADMINISTRATION

The Clinical Microbiologist will oversee Microbiology testing for the entire BayCare Laboratory system; he/she will be responsible for the accurate and timely performance of clinical microbiology tests in the centralized Regional BayCare Microbiology lab and for Microbiology tests performed at the various BayCare Hospitals. The Clinical Microbiologist will be interacting and working with BayCare Infection Control groups; Pharmacy and Physicians; as well as the other laboratory sections. He/she will provide consultation to clinicians regarding patient care services; including:
stained smear interpretation; preliminary and final organism reports in disease diagnosis; susceptibility testing and new technologies. The Clinical Microbiologist will ensure laboratory compliance with all regulatory bodies as well as appropriate billing of microbiology serviceDescription:
REQUIRED LICENSURE:
Medical Technologist in microbiology FL Microbiology Director within 6 months of hire
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Master's in microbiology Prefer Doctorate in microbiology
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Two years in clinical microbiology
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION:
American Board of Medical Microbiology
