OVERVIEW
This is a Big Data Application Development Sr. Programmer Analyst role in a fast paced technology delivery organization supportingregulatory compliance. This position will work closely with Big Data engineering,solutions development teams, program managers, project managers, architects andother stakeholders. The individual will be responsible for contributing to technicaldesign, development, system integration testing and production deployment activitiesand analyzing and troubleshooting production issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities ofthe role include (but are not limited to) the following:
Engage with businessanalysts to understand business requirements and translate them to functionalspecification and technical design, ensuring full requirements traceability
Perform analysis anddesign to provide inputs in defining solution architecture for all assignedprojects, working closely with enterprise and Big Data architects and leads.
Develop data models, writefunctional specifications and technical design documents
Develop software code asper the solution architecture and design
Perform code reviews, unitand system testing to ensure application modules are working as per the requirements
Support System IntegrationTesting and User Acceptance Testing
Analyze and trouble shootproduction issues
Perform batch performance benchmarkingand tuning.
Provide technical guidanceto the other project team members and ensure quality through periodic codereviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of strong BigData technology knowledge preferably on Cloudera release of Hadoop ecosystem
Extensive hands on experiencewith all components in Hadoop ecosystem - including but not limited to - Hive,Spark, Pig, Oozie, Yarn, Sqoop, Impala, Datameer and Platfora
End-to-end softwaredevelopment lifecycle experience on large Big Data projects preferably in afinancial services organization
Prior experience in SQL,ETL and Data warehousing projects.
Prior hands-on experiencewith Oracle databases and data modeling is preferred.
Working experience with teamsspread across many countries and time zones
Good team playerinterested in sharing knowledge and cross-training other team members and showsinterest in learning new technologies and products
Prior experience withLinux, UNIX and MS Windows application deployment platforms
Strong communicationsskills.
Experience with AMLmonitoring standards, processes and technologies in a large financial servicesorganization is preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science inComputer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or arelated field
