INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12/20/2019. As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot complex network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment. Develop and maintain local procedures for networks, system operations, and product assembly and installation. Provide ongoing support, resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions involving various hardware components and network operating software failures. Analyze measurements of traffic loads, bandwidth utilization, and collision rates for trends, deficiencies, and patterns. Perform operation and reconfiguration of various peripheral equipment to include line printers, laser printers, tape drive units, terminals, and Personal Computers within the Land Area Network (LAN). You may qualify at the GS -12 , if you fulfill the following
Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Designing and monitoring complex network systems, configures and installs network hardware/software, and maintains local area network (LAN) Operations. Analyzing equipment and network operating software reliability and utilization reports to identify and correct problem areas that affect computer and telecommunications performance levels. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
