COMPUTER ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (CURRENT/PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYEES):
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes establishing and managing user accounts and determining and maintaining user privilege levels. Monitoring ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met. Performing daily system back-ups and upgrading of hardware and software as directed. Using established computer techniques to identify and promptly resolving network related problems within the organization. Troubleshooting hardware, software, Wide Area Network (WAN), and Local Area Network (LAN) problems where applicable, and coordinating with the Base Communications Squadron to ensure timely resolution. Coordinating with the Base Communication Squadron for the establishment and implementation of LAN policies, procedures, and standards. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07/08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques; and of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems, and to provide user support. 2. Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems, including medical interfaces; and higher level programming languages. 3. Knowledge of data content and output options for a variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems. 4. Knowledge of data analysis and statistical methodology to support data analysis. 5. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; and analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems and develop effective and economical solutions. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to train users and provide assistance to customers. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
